Last Day in North GA Mountains

Today is our last day here. We have really enjoyed the beautiful scenery, the wonderful Christmas lights, and the German architecture. It has been relaxing, but did lots of walking. We are thankful to have such good friends like Brad and Lisa to help us learn the ropes of being an RV’er. We’ve had fun on this very short trip. Hope to spend more time in the RV next year. Next big trip will be in March 2020!

Helen, GA

Saturday afternoon, we went back to Helen, GA to see the sites and shops during the daytime. Very Gatlinburg-like, but maybe not so busy. However, by late afternoon it was crowded. Found the perfect magnet to put on our RV refrigerator to remember our trip to Helen. After walking for miles up and down and around Helen, we found a little tavern to stop and have dinner. The food was great. Watched the 2nd half of the LSU vs. GA game while there. LSU won 37-10 in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta. Tomorrow is our last day to visit the area, then Monday it is time to return back to our cabin.

Dahlonega, GA

On Saturday morning, we went to Dahlonega, GA for some shopping. It was a beautiful day, perfect for some shopping downtown at the square, all decorated for Christmas. Didn’t see Santa Claus, but did see Mr. Grinch! We ate lunch at Pueblo’s Mexican Restaurant.

On the Road to the GA Mountains…

We decided to visit Dahlonega and Helen, Georgia this weekend. Left on Friday to go to Yonah Mountain Campground in our RV. First time we are towing a vehicle. Having fun with our friends Brad and Lisa Tuten, neighbors at the RV and Cabin Resort. After setting up at the campground, we went to Helen, GA to see all the lights after dark and ate at Paul’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant.
